Great place for a walk. Vernon Park has lovely formal gardens and a cafe. Links really well with Woodbank park's more relaxed open spaces and paths down to the river. Highly recommended for a sunny day, but top destination locally to walk dogs in any weather. Easy parking is a real bonus.

Wonderful large spacious park with tarmac walking paths. A lovely cafe too serves different teas, hot and cold food. Park run happens every Saturday morning at 9.

I went here to check out the fishing lake I was very pleased to see the work that has been done and the weeds that have been removed over years. however it is still ravaged with crayfish which is very unfortunate indeed I did meet a young man who was putting out his own crayfish traps at his own expense to try to alleviate the problem however there was no money being given by the Stockport and was federation to tackle the problem of crayfish which is a huge problem to all fishermen and really should be on top of the list of things to spend money on.
