Came here as a friend lives in the area and raved about it. Exceeded my expectations, a cracking selection of beers and a warm welcome from the friendly landlord. Looking forward to my next visit

This was on Saturday 13th October at about 4:40.Me (calling in for a drink): Hi. Ill be getting a drink but first, do you have a toilet here?Owner: (seemingly fairly drunk and sat at a table facing the door, playing with his phone): As required by the licensing act of blah blah blah, (20 seconds later) therefore we are required to have toilets on premises for the use of customers. Me, thinking how much quicker saying Yes would have been: OK. Where are they?Owner (pointing to a doorway): Down there, but I must warn you there is a problem that I have spent hours trying to fix, (20 seconds later) and I think I have cracked it so please be careful pressing the flush.After using the loo and deciding Ill just have a half, and seeing only one pump clip visible on the bar, said: Can I have half of the Squawk please?Owner, loudly: Insufficient information!Me: What?Owner: We have two Squawks on.Me (having had enough nonsense, and pointing right at the pump clip): This one.Owner (still not looking at me or the bar): I cant see to which beer you are pointing!Me (walking out): Forget it.
Good selection of bottles and cans of real ale. Strong smell of cannabis evident inside and out when I went there.This was the case, as I observed it on the occasion that I visited. My observations were not intended to be defamatory but they WERE accurate. I knew nothing of the source of the smell and accept that the smell may have come from elsewhere in the vicinity of the shop.
A great selection of British ales/coders and continental beers. Competitive prices for craft beers. A pleasant atmosphere a nice place to have a drink.
