Yet another place, where taxes of taxpayers are wasted. Staff there basically knows nothing and does nothing just to make that place functional. No light in WC, not working WiFi, allways problems with login... Staff allways says, that ,,sorry, we have problems today with WiFi: , ,,sorry, IT does not work today properly''...But there is no surprise in that - 1. It's a public workplace - none englishman will do anything to enforce law and order from other englishman (corruption in english courts, police, councils...2. English style of work - if any immigrant would be hired here, and was responsible for order and functionality - there would be investigation and disciplinary action carried out against him/her straightaway (discruimmination of immigrants by englishmen in UK). -2/10
I would have to love this library but i couldnot do it o the day of trip to stockport because of the time constraint. But i will definitely love to visit this place again.

I love to visit the library for myself and with my children. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its clean and well looked after.
I visited the local heritage library (situated on the second floor of Stockport Central Library) to research my great, great grandparents. The building is easily accessible and there are lifts available.The staff were extremely helpful, assisting me to find old newspapers on microfiche and show me how to work the machine used to read them.I was able to request some copies of newspaper entries to be made, which they do for an extremely reasonable fee. I collected them a couple of days later, but they will post them out to you too.My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to explore all the available resources. I am sure there is much more of my family history to find so I am planning a return visit in the not too distant future.
